'Metropolis' Steam Punk table lamp
This unique 'Metropolis' table lamp is named after the 1927 German expressionist epic science-fiction film directed by Fritz Lang.
The light is made mainly from parts of an EDP Productions Ltd 35mm slide and film strip projector. The cast ribbing reminds me of Art Deco buildings and early 20th Century cast iron radiators. I have found out very little about the history of this great find, if you know more please email me.

I love this quote from the film by actress Brigitte Helm who played the double role of Maria and her robot counterpart in METROPOLIS.
"There can be no understanding between the hand and the brain unless the heart acts as mediator".
